Sylvia Young Theatre School

Holiday Courses

Under the supervision of Sylvia Young OBE, our holiday courses are taken by both teachers from our full-time school and also by professionals from the theatre world.

The emphasis of our classes is on vocational development with good training. We aim to build confidence and communication skills. Students do not have to audition to take part and the course is suitable for those with some experience and for those entirely new to theatre. It is also a great opportunity to make new friends in a very happy environment.

Holiday School offers a number of sessions in varying styles. Our very popular 'Theatre Classes Course' 7-18 years & Musical Theatre Course 10–18 years: Full information can be found in our course information menu and is held at our school in Nutford Place W1.

You can register directly online using our online booking page. Our booking system will inform you if any course is full.

SEND

SEND

Our staff does their very best to accommodate every child.  It is helpful for staff to be aware if a student is dyslexic, for example, so that support can be available in a drama or singing class to read scripts or lyrics.  Support would take the form of teacher awareness only.  We would not be able to provide an additional member of staff.
Equally, it may be helpful for dance teachers to be aware if a student is dyspraxic as the student may need more time to pick up routines.
The student would need to be able to benefit from the teaching available in the class at the same time as not impeding the learning of other students.
Should you wish to discuss any of these points with us to confirm whether the classes would be suitable for your child, please feel free to contact us.
